Isaac Otieno emerged the overall winner of the 10th leg of Misitu Golf Challenge qualifying round that took place on Saturday 24th September 2011,at the par 72 nine-hole Muthaiga Golf Club. Playing off handicap 18, Otieno scored 19 points on the first nine and 21 points on the 2nd nine to score an impressive total of 40 points.
Present at the event was the Kenya Forest Service Director Mr. David Mbugua and the Chairman of Post Bank who later presented a sponsorship cheque for the tournament among other guests.
Speaking while awarding prizes to the winners of the day, the Director KFS emphasized on the need for support from the private sector in the growth and conservation of forests in the country.
The other winners of the day were Uday Rajani who was the runners up with 39 points. The guest winner was Mrs. Margret Kariuki while Hon. Amos Kimunya won the hidden hole. The next tournament will be held at Eldoret Golf Club on 8th October, 2011.
